To avoid damage to direct injection engines like TSI or FSI, they are never equipped with LPG systems.

Theoretically, the LPG power return is 7-10% lower than that of petrol, which, after equipment installation and adjustment, results in a practically insensible power loss of 3-4%

There are three possible causes for gas smell in the passenger compartment. First, the equipment's generation. This problem used to occur with older LPG equipment due to its injection process. With 4th generation equipment, the injection system is analogous to petrol injection system. That eliminates the possibility of gas leakage from the engine and gas smell penetrating the passenger compartment. Second, a low quality installation: in winter, due to temperature extremes, expansion and contraction of pipe joints at different speeds occur, which can cause momentary gas smell in the passenger compartment. Third, routine situations: the gas smell is caused by small amounts of gas that leak in the air when removing the fuel nozzle from the fill opening.

Gas has a higher combustion temperature (1100°C) than petrol (950°C). For cars manufactured in Japan, engines are generally made from softer materials, which on a longer run cause valve damage due to higher gas combustion temperature. To avoid this, valve protection systems are installed (additional lubrication).

LPG has a lower ignition risk than petrol; and LPG is not toxic, as opposite to petrol. LPG equipment comes with factory-installed multi-level safety systems, such as high heat, pressure and shock protected tanks, which prevent the equipment from causing dangerous situations.
