For the Igla immobiliser, batteries must be changed every 6 months. For the Skybrake immobiliser, batteries must be changed every 12 months, and for immobiliser SEO - every 18 months. 

The interference is minimal, basically, all the systems are only connected to the car wires and they operate in parallel. No changes are made to the control units.

We cooperate with almost all insurance companies. If a KASKO policy has been issued, then we can provide a partner discount. If several systems are installed, we can provide a discount for a set.

SEO and Iglaare latest-generation immobilisers that operates through the car CAN line, if necessary, sending a command to block the car (if there is no chip when the car is started). Skybrake physically “interrupts” one of the supply circuits, thereby stalling the car. Because of more complicated electronic systems, SEO and Igla immobilisers are recommended for newer cars. Sometimes it is also the only immobiliser that can be installed on such cars.

It takes time to access the location where the security systems are to be installed, install the immobiliser, hide it in the car (so that it would be hard to find) and correctly put everything back together again.

As with any electronic device, defects are possible but they are not common. If they do arise, we fix them as soon as possible.  

The alarm system uses a signal to inform that unauthorized actions are carried out with the car, which disturbs the thief because the signal may attract the attention of other people; however, it does not actually prevent the theft. An immobiliser does not give itself away even when someone breaks into the car, but if the thief will attempt to steal the car, it will be impossible to do so because the immobiliser will block the operation of the car.

We recommend not to do it because if the thief steals the car keys and the chip will be with them, the immobiliser will think that the owner of the car is driving the car, and it will be possible to steal the car. If the chip will not be with the keys, even if the thief steals the keys, it will be impossible to move the car.

Since the beginning of 2015, the VAS Ceļu satiksmes drošības direkcija (CSDD) (SJC Road Traffic Safety Directorate) checks marked vehicle mirrors during technical inspections. Non-compliance in mirror markings is notified to the State Police.

Usually the minimum requirements of insurance companies consist of sound and light alarm systems. For risk group cars and cars that have Keyless Go systems, usually an immobiliser is required as well. In any case, we recommend also consulting with your broker/insurance company regarding this matter because requirements of each insurance company differ.

Immobilisers always come with a set of 2 chips (transceivers).

Yes, the alarm is activated with the original key.

Yes, if you want, we can prepare a warranty letter as a proof. We cooperate with car dealers; they accept the immobilisers installed by Autonams, so the car warranty will remain in force.
